BOB WINS DOVER IN A ONE TWO THREE PUNCH WITH SPEED AND STENZO.

Dover International Speedway - (7/6/2001) - temp report - The race started with a reminiscent of the 1999 season with front row Stenzo on the pole and this years dominate pole winner on the outside . Bob starting in 2nd place has had a very strong engine program this year. And was able to take the lead from Stenzo on lap 10. Bob has shown early on, that he had the dominate car to beat.

Then on lap 19 Coyote and the #33 car get together as they where racing for 23rd position. Also involved in this wreck was the #1 car, #77 car, #10 car and Speed. This crash would put Coyote and three other cars down a lap. Under this caution Stenzo would give up 2nd place to pit. Speed and Coyote would pit to fix some damage on there cars. On lap 31 Stenzo would hit the #9 car that slowed for some reason. As Stenzo bounced off the #9 car and into the #8 car, he would get lucky not damaging his car as the caution came out. Under this yellow Bob would give up the lead to pit and Stenzo would be the only one to stay out. Stenzo now in 10th place and Bob back out of the pits in 13th place, it looked like it would take no time for them to get back up to the front. This restart would give Coyote a chance to get back on the lead lap. But the #18 car that was two laps down got loose in turn one and had to back off the gas to save his car. Coyote would run into the back of his car and shoot into the outside wall. Coyote's ride is not over yet, as he slides back down the track and is collected by the #26 car. Stenzo trying to miss the wreck slides sideways down pit row and flat spots all four of his tires. Stenzo was running in 3rd when he spun and after pitting would end up at the tail end of the lead lap in 25th place.

Bob and Speed would stay out and restart the race on lap 40 in 2nd and 3rd. Speed mangers to lead a lap on lap 41, but is overtaken by Bob on lap 42. Then on lap 59 Stenzo touches the apron in turn 4 and slides up into the #8 car. Stenzo was able to make the turn and save his car but the #8 car was not able to turn and would hit the outside wall.

The rest of the race looked like it would go green till the end, with Speed in the lead after Bob's tires had started to loose there grip. Stenzo was seven seconds back in 3rd place when the caution flag came out. This was a disappointment to Speed's team as they had enough gas to make it to the end. Bob's team was very happy to see this caution because they did not have enough gas to make it. All this happened on lap 107 when Coyote got into the #17 car bring out this yellow. Everyone pits expect Stenzo who stayed out for track position and was the new leader.

On lap 113 the race went green with Speed and Bob in 2nd and 3rd place on new tires. Even though Stenzo was on old tires from lap 62. He would put up one heck of a fight until lap 133. When Bob nudged him over for the lead. This bump would let Speed get 2nd place too.(as seen above) Stenzo would hold on to 3rd and Coyote would finish in 21st place.
