COYOTE WINS HIS FIRST RACE OF THE 2001 SEASON !

Sears Point Raceway - (7/27/2001) - Temp Report - Well we know how much everyone loves racing road coarses, especially all the yellow flags.   This race was no exception with eight yellows coming out in this 36 lap race.   Cautions flags were fling from lap one until the end.

So we are only going to talk about the major cautions.   On lap 9 the #31 car missed a gear shift and slowed coming up the hill into turn two.   Stenzo at full speed had nowhere to go and hits him head on blowing his engine.   This brings out a caution and ends Stenzo day who had worked his way up to 19th place at the time.   The next major yellow come on lap 33 when Bob got hit from behind by the #1 car.   This hit would cause Bob to spin into oncoming traffic and was hit again loosing one of his front wheels.   As Bob tried to get around the track he would loses his motor.   This last caution both out on lap 33 would allow for a two lap shoot out with Coyote still leading the race and Speed in 9th place has the green flag dropped.   Coyote would hold on to the lead to claim his first win of the 2001 Speedlan season.   Jay's car would finish in 3rd and Speed would fight his way up to 4th.
