ATLANTA
MNTR SUNDAYS
Well another great race. NOT. Atlanta motor speedway was not much of a speedway. JACK and JasonSD Qualified
and went with fast setups, while SPEED and Y-Lee didn't Qualify and went with cars for the long run. But that never
happened. SPEED got hit from behind as he was slowing for a wreck in front of him early in the race. With
this damage SPEED had no chance of running on the lead lap, but was going to run until he was three or four laps down and
just retire. But with all the yellows coming out every lap or two. SPEED never when down a lap and ended up finishing 12TH.
Y-Lee finished in 11TH with damage too.
JACK looked like he was finally going to get a good finish, but that didn't happen. While running in 3RD with two
laps to go, the #29 car picked up a bad push coming out of turn four. JACK got on the brakes seeing what was
happening in front of him. But the car behind him didn't lift enough and hit him. This killed his motor and
any chance of a good finish. JasonSD also with a fast car had trouble getting around cars that were a little slow,
Atlanta has always been a hard track to pass at. Add a cold temp of 58F and it makes for some loose cars. I
don't know if the car in front of him was going high or low or just loose. That call will be up to MNTR Officials.
JasonSD would end up in 6TH place for the race.
I'm going to said this again, These first couple of races are very important to just finish in the top ten. It's better to
give a little more with some of the new drivers and some of the wild drivers too, then to have a bad finish. Last year
was very hard to race at MNTR at first, but later in the season we had some of the best races we've been in. And the CHASE races were great
and we weren't even in the CHASE because we missed 6 or 8 races and then had some bad finishes. So I think MNTR will be looking at the drivers that cause wrecks or Self spins and
will start thinning them out. I don't want any of us to be on that list. Coming up is two short tracks
Bristol and Martinsville and you know there's going to be cautions. So lets just take it easy and have fun two weeks from now.
We will be off this weekend.
